How I Met Your Father is an American sitcom created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger that premiered on Hulu on January 18, 2022. The show is a spin-off of How I Met Your Mother and follows the main character Sophie (played by Hilary Duff) as she tells her son the story of how she met his father. The show uses the original series' structure of flashbacks and narrative voiceovers.
Sophie is telling the story of how she met her son's father and at the end of episode 1 presents four possible candidates: Jesse (Chris Lowell), Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Sid (Suraj Sharma), and Ian (Daniel Augustin). Sophie indicated that she met the father that night, but has given no further information about him.
