The plot concerns a record 151-game 1992–2003 high school football winning streak by De La Salle High School of Concord, California. The movie tells the remarkable journey of legendary football coach Bob Ladouceur (Jim Caviezel), who took the De La Salle High School Spartans from obscurity to a 151-game winning streak that shattered all records for any American sport.

The movie is inspired by a true story and it shows how the team struggled to continue after Coach Bob had a heart attack and one of the students was tragically killed on the street. As the team struggles to continue, they end up losing their first game in years, breaking the streak.
