According to **USA Today**, in the 118th Congress which runs through Jan. 3, 2025, Republicans have majority control of the House of Representatives. Republicans took back the House by a slim majority in the 2022 midterm elections. Of the 435 voting seats in the House, 222 are held by Republicans.

In addition, **CBS News** Battleground Tracker model finds Republicans start the 2022 campaign with a lead in the race for the House, with 230 seats to 205 seats for Democrats. The party with 218 seats controls the House.

**CNBC** reports that Republicans will take majority control of the House, ousting Democrats from key positions of power and complicating President Joe Biden's legislative hopes for the remainder of his term.
