What Is Easter

Easter is the most important festival of the Christian Church. It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and is held between March 21 and April 25, on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the northern spring equinox. The earliest recorded observance of an Easter celebration comes from the 2nd century, though the commemoration of Jesus’ Resurrection probably occurred earlier.

Easter is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.

These days, lots of people celebrate it by giving and receiving chocolate Easter eggs, and sometimes going on a hunt for them too!
